June 2017 Update
I've been lucky during my return and I have managed to trade for some CB Silver dragons. Up until recently I only had a couple which had been gifted to me. I am terrible at hunting for silvers, I think I have seen one in the cave since I started DC. So trades are my only options to grab these. I currently have 3 CB Silver Females and 4 CB Silver Males. My goal is to have six males and six females which should give me enough silvers to work with to create some nice shiny lines. I am not particularly fond of shiny things, but as they are rare people seem to want them. So it makes it pretty useful for trades. The added bonus is that I really love gifting! I will happily breed 2nd and 3rd gen silvers for lotto's or prizes. I also have a habit of throwing shimmers and silvers to the AP every now and then. I don't have any CB Gold dragons and I don't really care for those either.
Breeding this month....
Male Pillow x Female Swallowtail - both eggs acquired, need to let them grow up to attempt a 3rd gen
Male Striped-river x Female Silver Lunar Herald - Need another Lunar Herald egg and waiting on a successful breeding resulting in any egg for 3G
Ultraviolet - from Male Spitfire x Female Purple - just waiting on the dragons to produce a 3rd gen Ultravoilet
Male Tsunami x Female Blue Nebula - just waiting on a successful breeding attempt for a 3rd gen
Male purple Nebula x Female Nhiostrife - waiting for 2 Nhiostrife eggs
Male Golden Wyvern x Female Red Nebula - eggs acquired moving onto a 3rd gen
Mael Red x Female Magi - 3rd gen bred now working up to 4th gen
Updates on April Breeding...

Male Pillow x Female Tan Ridgewing - need one more CB Female Tan Ridgewing before I start
Male Pillow x Female Almerald - On hold currently breeding Almeralds with different breeds.

April 2017 update
After a large break from being on DC I have returned and I'm so happy to find that bright pinks and frills are back in the cave. Yes, old news but I honestly haven't touched the site, bred dragons or updated on here for probably well over a year.
Current breeding plans that I am collecting dragons for....
Male Pillow x Female Frill (3/4 females secured)
Male Pillow x Female Bright Pink (1/4 females secured)
Male Pillow x Female Almerald (2/4 females secured)
Male Pillow x Female Tan Ridgewing (2/4 females secured)
Male Pillow x Female Silver - just waiting for a silver to grow up to attempt a 3rd gen.
Other plans include celestial x nebula, celestial x pillow and maybe Almerald x nebula.
Lineages completed in April:
4th EG Dreamboat checker Pillow x Balloon

The Chocolate Brownie Project - started October 7th NOW ON HOLD
Male Seragamma Wyvern x Female Autumn Seasonal
Update December 29th - All paired dragons failed to produced a seasonal egg at all. Every sucessfull breeding produced a Seragamma Wyvern. Lineage now on hold until Autumn 2015.
Update Nov 13, 2013 breeding - 2nd gen breeding of 2 base pairs produced 2 eggs - both seragamma wyverns - all eggs abandoned (due to frustrating breeding habits!)
Update Oct 22nd - 2nd breeding of all base pairs - all produced a 2nd egg - all eggs seragamma wyverns ALL eggs abandoned (due to imminent Halloween madness) - stats so far: 8 breedings 8 seragamma wyverns.
Results so far - 7th - 8th October - 4 base breeding pairs established all produced an egg, all were Seragamma Wyverns. 3 Kept - 2 for second gen and one spare. 1 accidental auto abandon.
2nd gens so far: 3 seragamma Wyvens - Half Baked Dreamboat, Chunky Monkey Dreamboat and Phish Food Dreamboat
I'm not yet fed up with seasonal dragons but I am a bit tired of the same old breeding scheme with them. All I have done so far is 3rd and 4th gen PB lineages and it's getting a bit old. I completed my 4th gen Winter and Spring lines and I although I have two 3rd gen Summers - I think I have literally just missed getting them in time to create a 4th gen egg - fingers crossed for next summer!
So now we are moving on to autumn I want to try something different and work with a checker. My ideal end result will be a 4th gen checker with the seragamma wyverns. I have yet to breed any of these and have been waiting for a "brown" looking breed for a while. These seem to fit the bill and I'm rather fond of how the males look with the female seasonal dragons. I'm calling this the chocolate brownie project since all my Seragamma's are named after types of Ben and Jerry's ice cream - added to the fact all the breeds are brown in colour. I'm going to have to think of some fitting names for the autumns as I now need to collect 12 of them. Four females for this project and another 8 to start the pure bred autumn line - wish me luck I think I will need it if the summer seasonal's were anything to go by.

A note about song Lineages
Recently I have completed several large breeding projects. These are projects that have taken a large amount of time to achieve. A good example would be my "Christmas Song" lineage. This is a 5th gen male Lumina x female Moonstone lineage where all ancestors are named in such a way that on the final generation of the project you have a complete song. In this example I chose the song "Merry Christmas Everyone" as I am a big fan of the song and in particular the Shakin' Stevens one. Would I recommend a song lineage project? The short answer would be no. It takes a long time - not only with the breeding but the collecting of CB base pairs, saving the particular song lyrics (which in most cases are already taken) as well as having a big commitment on your part to see it through to the end. This projects from planning to getting the final egg has taken no less than 8 months. This was due to a number of factors. I was using two different breed, so even if the pair produced an egg it still had a chance to be the egg I didn't need. One pair in particular took about 6/7 attempts to give me the egg I needed. The breeding seems to take the most time.
For anyone looking into doing a song lineage be prepared for the long haul - it won't happen over night. Pick a song and breed that you love - your going to be seeing a lot of them. Forget picking a breed that you find hard to obtain - don't make it more difficult than it needs to be unless you like a challenge! Once you have the song in mind get a piece of paper and work out how many generations you will need to complete your song. If you want to start small pick a verse of a song you like rather than the full song and avoid songs which have a lot of repeating words - remember every dragon on the Dragoncave site has it's own individual name that cannot be repeated. Once you know what generation your aiming for and what to name each dragon save the names. By save I mean use other dragons as place holders for that name. That way you know in advance if a name is taken or if you will have to use capital and lower case letters to your advantage to get the lyrics you need for the project. Now your onto the fun part. Collect all the CB dragons you will need depending on your lineage requirements. For an example for a 4th generation egg you will need four CB pairs so a total of eight CB dragons. If your using two different breeds in your lineage of course you will need four dragon of each breed. Top tip - if you are picking a common breed the abandoned page is a great place to pick up low time CB eggs for your lineage. Do not breed until you have collected the CB dragons that you need - otherwise you run the risk of having refusals and then not having another dragon to try to breed next time. Collect extra - refusals can be a pain think ahead and collect a couple extra from each breed. Now breed your CB pairs. If you get the wrong breed not a problem - you haven't named your first generation of dragons yet so at this point you can play around until you get the 2nd gens that you need. Be organised - it is very easy to breed the wrong pairs or get lost in a big lineage. Create a spreadsheet and keep note of everything! Given time and a lot of patience you will get to your end result. You may be sick of looking at the breeds you picked by that point but to get a whole song lineage with every dragon on your scroll is an amazing achievement and something to be proud of. So take your time, plan ahead and enjoy creating a lineage that you will be able to gift and trade on Dragoncave. Now if you have read this far and your interested in my result here is the 5th gen I arrived at Shakin' Stevens
